Swimming Pools and Spas

MPN Series

Swimming pools and spas can be very hard on heat exchangers because of potentially elevated chlorine levels. Standard type 304 and 316 stainless steel plates don't hold up well.  The problem can be aggravated by improper or inadequate maintenance.

We offer two plate heat exchangers as solutions, the MPN nickel-brazed series and the VT04 Titanium gasketed model.  Both deliver peace of mind that comes from knowing that you've given your customers the right solution, not a "good enough" solution.

MPN Series.

Use this when maintenance is performed regularly and chlorine levels are closely controlled.

  • Tough. Nickel-brazed with marine grade stainless steel for a high degree of corrosion resistance.  The special stainless material we use is 37 times the corrosion resistance of type 304 stainless steel.
  • Compact.  A fraction of the size of a comparably performing shell-and-tube heat exchanger.
  • Flexible.  Available for pools ranging from 1,000 gallons to 200,000 gallons, and spas from 750 to 8,000 gallons.
VT04 Titanium model

Model VT04 Titanium.

Use this when close control of chlorine levels cannot be guaranteed.  Recommended for electronic chlorinating systems.

  • Really Tough.  Titanium Grade One plates have 2500 times the chlorine corrosion resistance of type 304 stainless steel.  Nitrile Butyl Rubber (NBR) gaskets are effectively immune to chlorine corrosion. And the pool loop connections are titanium as well.  The result?  All parts that contact chlorinated water are either titanium or NBR.
  • Compact.  Much smaller and lighter than a comparable shell-and-tube heat exchanger, making it especially well suited for replacing a failed shell-and-tube unit.
  • Servicable.  Unit can be disassembled, with individually cleanable plates and connections.
  • Flexible.  Pool sizes from 1,000 to 200,000 gallons.
