State of the art for your refrigeration engineering

The use of GEA PHE Systems plate heat exchangers in cooling systems is already well established. Their installation requires little space, they are particularly easy to maintain and allow many refrigeration applications, e.g. in the following fields:

  • Economizer
  • Desuperheater
  • Condenser
  • Oil cooler
  • Subcooler
  • Evaporator

Commercial refrigeration utilizes the advantages of EcoBraze - brazed plate heat exchangers. The gasket-free, hermetically sealed design fits the bill perfectly and the cost effectiveness is extremely attractive. Thus brazed plate heat exchangers have become the state of the art in refrigeration engineering. We use a variety of stainless steels as plate material and pure copper or nickel as brazing material in the most common designs of our brazed plate heat exchangers, which come in the widest range of shapes and sizes.

Our plate heat exchangers can be found in:

  • air-conditioning and process chillers
  • supermarket installations and
  • in domestic heat-pumps

Laser-Welded Cassettes (LWC)

The resistance of gaskets in the heat exchanger limits industrial use with critical products such as ammonia. This is why GEA PHE Systems developed the laser-welded plate heat exchanger (LWC). Two plates are welded with each other, forming a hermetically sealed flow channel.

As compared with the fully welded version, the LWC plate heat exchangers offer the advantage of product-side cleaning and better resistance against thermal stress.
